Butchers Shop
2 Kehoe Place, Yungaburra
This butcher shop dates back to the establishment of Yungaburra. It appears to have been established in 1913-14 for the Estate of HS Williams. Frank Carr was the butcher who worked here as an employee of the Williams family. The local newspaper reported that it had been internally painted in 1916 and was looking in fine condition. The Williams family shops included a general store and bakery and later a service station, all adjacent. In 1975 the butchery was no longer part of the Williams family estate but has continued to operate under subsequent owners. While modern equipment has been installed, the shop still reflects the early 20th century when Yungaburra was in its' hey day.
