This private home on the outskirts of town is situated near the location of the first shanty erected by the Williams family in 1907. This house was reputedly built for a daughter in the family, Frances Wardle. She had been widowed in 1922 and returned to Yungaburra around 1926, around the time this house was built. She remained for a few years, during which time her daughter Marion was married to William Lehfeldt. His family appear to have managed hotels, and he came from Tarzali where Rudolph Lehfeldt was the publican. William and Marion then moved to Cairns to manage the Australian Hotel in 1930. Frances Wardle returned to live in Brisbane. The house has had a number of owners and operated as an art gallery during the 1980s. This is a private home and not publically accessible.
