Minjerribah Land and Sea rangers (North Stradbroke Island). Key achievements of the rangers include:

  • sea patrols and joint operations with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Marine Parks
  • sand dune restoration
  • fire management
  • feral animal control
  • assisting in the recovery of threatened species including Water Mouse, Koala, Phaius Orchid, Swamp Daisy and Oxleyan Pygmy Perch
  • turtle nest monitoring and protection
  • waterway and wetland patrols around Minjerribah Island
  • regular surveys of dolphins, koala and turtles
  • protection and maintenance of cultural sites through clearing debris, fire and flora management
  • monitoring of seagrass beds.
