Find a volunteer project—Magnetic Island National Park volunteers

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, some of our volunteering programs are currently operating on a limited basis, in line with social distancing and restrictions on travel. We encourage you to check with the local contact listed for each volunteering program to find out if they are currently operating.

Volunteers are helping weed and revegetate beautiful Florence, Nelly and Horseshoe Bays on magnificent Magnetic Island.

  • Spring
  • Saturday mornings (7.30am to 12.30pm) fortnightly March to November.
For?

Club, community or special interest group project

The project involves: weeding and beachside clean-up where needed.

Training will be provided.

A moderate level of fitness is required.

Transport from mainland to weeding sites on island is provided.

The group also participate in community events aimed at raising awareness on the Island about weeds and their removal.
