Find a volunteer project—Moreton Island Protection Committee

Help visitors enjoy magnificent Moreton Island and contribute to important conservation and regeneration projects.

  • Volunteer with partner organisation or other government department
  • Volunteers may need to be member of Moreton Island Protection Committee.

The project involves:

  • Public contact, customer service, education or interpretation
  • Research and monitoring
  • Weeding and/or revegetation (including plant propagation)

Training will be provided.

A low to moderate level of fitness is required.

Information Centre volunteers will need good interpersonal skills and enjoy talking with people.

Volunteers provide own transport to Moreton Island.

A $9,263 Friends of Parks grant has been awarded to these activities during 2014.
