Find a volunteer project—Nairana National Park caretakers

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, some of our volunteering programs are currently operating on a limited basis, in line with social distancing and restrictions on travel. We encourage you to check with the local contact listed for each volunteering program to find out if they are currently operating.

Support rangers in remote areas by helping look after the park and homestead complex.

The project involves:

  • General park duties and/or maintenance
  • Research and monitoring
  • Weeding and/or revegetation (including plant propagation)

No training is provided.

A moderate level of fitness is required.

Must have senior first-aid certificate. Suits volunteers with 4WD experience and experience in living or working in isolated areas.

Miniumum 2 volunteers, live on-site for 4-5 weeks duration. Accommodation and vehicle to use on-site provided. Discuss what to bring with Ranger-in-charge.
