Find a volunteer project—Queensland Wader Study Group

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, some of our volunteering programs are currently operating on a limited basis, in line with social distancing and restrictions on travel. Help monitor shorebirds at key sites along Queensland’s coast.

The project involves: research and monitoring.

Training will be provided.

A low to moderate level of fitness is required.

Training in wader identification is available for volunteers with limited experience.

A $6,112 Friends of Parks Grant was awarded for shorebird surveys in Great Sandy Strait during 2014.
