Short description Eucalyptus youmanii on igneous rocks

Description Eucalyptus youmanii, E. dealbata, E. caleyi, E. prava and Callitris endlicheri shrubby woodland +/- E. banksii. Occurs on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks. Drier hills. (BVG1M: 15a)
Supplementary description Young and McDonald (1989), 10a, Sparshott (2009), 9 in part, 14, 17, Haselgrove and Cant (2009), 12b in part
Protected areas Girraween NP, Sundown NP, Sundown RR
Special values Habitat for threatened plant species including Astrotricha roddii, Homoranthus montanus and Acacia pubifolia.
Fire management guidelines SEASON: Autumn/Winter (Apr-Aug). INTENSITY: Low. INTERVAL: 7-12 years. STRATEGY: Burn < 30% of stands in any year, burning patches each year whenever possible. Do not repeat burn at 7 year intervals. Once burnt at 7 years, burn at 10+ years next cycle. ISSUES: Try to prevent high intensity fire.
