Air quality monitoring began in Toowoomba in July 2003 and continued until December 2010. Located at Willowburn Oval, and surrounded by light industry and residential areas, it operated as an Air NEPM campaign monitoring station where pollutant levels would be indicative of maximum levels experienced across Toowoomba.
